You Were Wired for Change
One of the most powerful ways we normalize change is by marking time intentionally.
And the seasonal thresholds—like the upcoming Spring Equinox—offer us a steady, natural rhythm for doing just that. Every Equinox, every Solstice, every cross-quarter day is an invitation to pause, take stock, and shift with the season. They offer a built-in moment to reflect on what’s stirring, what’s shifting, and what needs tending next.
Because the truth is: small seasonal changes are how we learn to live well-seasoned lives.
So, in preparation for the Equinox to come, I invite you to spend a little time with one of the biggest themes of midlife:
Change.
It’s not just a backdrop—it’s the defining characteristic of this season. Hormones shift. Brain wiring recalibrates. Relationships renegotiate. And our tolerance for people-pleasing, perfectionism, and pushing through? It starts to vanish like morning mist.
This is not a flaw—it’s a feature.
We are wired to change.
We are meant to evolve.
We are worthy of learning how to do so with care.
This season of life asks for tenderness.
It asks for clarity, compassion, and a willingness to pause.
It asks us to stop numbing and start listening.
To name what’s true.
To befriend our wiring.
To use the hard-earned wisdom we've gathered—not just for survival, but for the creation of lives we love.
And one of the most powerful tools I know for supporting change is this:
✨ Affirming the transformation we’re already in.
Here are a few affirmations I wrote with you in mind. May one of them meet you right where you're at:
I welcome change as an invitation to become more fully myself.
I release the pressure to stay the same. Growth is not betrayal—it’s becoming.
I trust that what is shifting is not lost, but being reshaped for my highest good.
I give myself permission to evolve in ways others may not understand.
I honor who I’ve been—and I choose who I’m becoming.
It’s safe for me to outgrow roles, rhythms, and relationships that no longer align.
Change is not something happening to me—it is something unfolding through me.
I am in the process of positive change.
I am willing to change.
